Bishop Daniel Flores

Bishop Daniel E. Flores, born in 1961 in Palacios, Texas, was raised in a family with deep roots in Texas and Mexico. He was ordained a priest in 1988 for the Diocese of Corpus Christi, where he served in various roles, including Chancellor and Rector of Corpus Christi Cathedral.

In 2006, he was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Detroit, where he oversaw Hispanic ministry and served in various theological and pastoral capacities. In 2009, Pope Benedict XVI named him the Sixth Bishop of Brownsville.

Bishop Flores is a prominent member of the USCCB, currently serving as Chairman of the Committee on Cultural Diversity in the Church and on various other committees.
